Christopher Klinges - 2012 (The Warnings Went Unheeded) - Almost Music by Christopher Klinges on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

This is the latest "Almost Music" track, but it was (is) so belabored in coming together that I'm inclined to save it for the next album "Not Nearly Music".
In any case, the challenge here for me was the lyrics. This song went through a number of different lyrical permutations from "Love Song" to "Meditative Musings Song" to this "Apocalyptic Rock" styling in which it will rest. The inspiration for the lyrics was the result of the 2012 Presidential election in the USA, in which the populace was given a choice between "more of the same" -- which has been a lotta nuthin' -- or something completely different -- which woulda been like the ol' tried and true and much closer to constitutional governance than what's coming down the tracks from the (in my opinion) unfortunate outcome of the vote tally.  (Also, the guitar is a Fender Stratocaster voiced in three parts; percussion supplied by the Micro-BR onboard drum machine; vocals supplied by some grown-up kid who could never get admitted to the school, or church, choirs.)
Anyway, here's the lyrics, in case you can't make out my mutterings in three part harmony:

2012: The Warnings Went Unheeded by Christopher Klinges (copyright 2012)

The warnings went unheeded/ We ignored what was needed
The future will be cheated/ if America's defeated.

The land that said "In God we trust
Has turned from Him to perverse lusts.
The national identity
Is erased for diversity.

To the last the prudent pleaded
For future generations cheated.

The aliens invade/ and freaks put on parade
The fools way is conceded/ and wise men go unheeded.

We once could multiply our treasure
Work, increase, and reap fair measure.
But pursuit of daily bread became
A subsidy pilfered in shame.

To the last the prudent pleaded,
Our greatness without fight was ceded.

The future will be cheated
If America's defeated.
The future will be cheated
If America's defeated.
