AUTUMN (In a Place for the Elect) -- appreciation by Christopher Klinges -- October 2021 (all rights reserved)

I remember my first time there; with her who shared this place with me. I remember the love ecstatic that moved in me that day; voices of other times.

The day brought an understanding between a man and a woman that made us one with each other, and splendidly one with everything our senses drank of, in, and from that day

I have never had the words to express it perfectly, but it is stamped vividly on my soul since then; and the moment is ever fresh when I look to the revelation there.

Since then too I have shared this place and the sense of awe it brings with others. When we are there, we are together outside ourselves, commingled spirits in the ether of the universe -- rising, illuminated, fulfilled.

The random splendors of autumn spread in perpetuity, horizon to horizon, earth to sky. They are a perfection of chaos. The mixtures of color expressing yearnings of ever burgeoning life reaching upward are a transcendent vision of Creation.

We are witnesses to the delicate touch of God. In its most subtle stirrings, with just a foreshadowing of everlasting glory, it is virtually unbearable; entirely perfect in its smallest part. What remains of fallen mortal frames can hardly bear the resplendent radiance revealed.

Energy. Light. Vision. Praise. Love back and forth through time to eternity. We have heaven.
