"Free" - the ninth song recorded for the virtual album project "Almost Music" by Time of Noah (Christopher Klinges) - was written and recorded over several months during the summer of 2016 on a Boss MicroBR 4track digital recorder. All music written and performed by Time of Noah (Chris Klinges) including digital drum machine editing resident on the recorder. This song consists of four guitar tracks, three vocal tracks and a percussion track recorded and mixed on the Micro BR with the intro loop edited and spliced into the performance with a Windows Vista version of Audacity. This song is recorded with a "wall of sound" technique tweaked by me into what I call a "Dungeon Mix": meant to convey the sound and feeling of performance in a subterranean dungeon owned and operated by the Inquisition. CHORUS:
Do you think you're independent
Do you think you're free
Regulated by government
In the vise of tyranny
Elite agendas choke the nation
Promoting society's disintegration
Seeking total power concentration
As the harvest of the people's desperation
Dark clouds loom ready to engulf the land
Propaganda shapes our discourse and few really understand
God given rights that underpin our liberty
Are undermined by atheists advancing Marxist tyranny
CHORUS
Rights bestowed by God are unalienable
Those granted by total states are shapeshifters and malleable
As in the time of Noah, so it is now all around
Don't imagine otherwise, the curtain's coming down
CHORUS
(MODIFIED) CHORUS...
Are you really independent
Are you really free
Regulated by government
A victim of its tyranny…
CODA
...Do you think you're free?
Do you think you're free?
Do you think you're free?
