Ecclesiastes 8:4 KJV “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?”
At the conclusion of the Gospel according to Mark, the Lord Jesus Christ makes a clear statement that demonstrates this principle in action; and its absolute, incontrovertible, enduring effects. In a few words, the Lord sets forth His program for salvation, and the final destinies of all mankind that come forth from it.
Mark 16:15-16 KJV “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
What each of us believes concerning His Gospel has everlasting consequences.
Belief is key, but our choice of what we believe is not what we think it is. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
It isn’t ours until it is given to us: each of us individually, personally by the One whose gift it is to bestow according to His will. John 6:29 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
